In a study conducted on 80 people between the ages of 18 and 55, where half of the subjects were healthy, while the other half had at least two symptoms of metabolic syndrome (a combination of symptoms indicating the risk of cardiovascular disease).
The group that ate beans showed a reduction in cholesterol levels, regardless of whether they were healthy or predisposed to cardiovascular disease.
